A St. Patty's Day life update.

Life has once again been pretty uneventful around here.  I had my wisdom teeth removed about a week ago and I am glad to say it went smoothly and my recovery was relatively easy.  I had been told horror stories about the procedures so I was pretty nervous about the whole thing, but it truly was not bad at all.  I would say the hardest thing was the swelling and stiffness in my jaw, the pain was pretty moderate and nothing Ibuprofen couldn't t handle.  I would like to say that my easy recovery also had a lot to do with my amazing husband who took such great care of me and all of my wonderful friends and family who called/texted to check on me, I am so grateful to have wonderful people in my life.  And because I have no shame and just want to keep it real, here is a pic of me in full chipmunk mode a day after surgery.  Warning: as you can imagine the day after surgery I was lookin a hot mess.

Hello hot mess!

Thanks to Shannon and Robert who sent me these beauties and truly brightened my day!

What do you eat after oral surgery?  Ice Cream of course! And lucky for me the most popular ice cream shop here in town just opened for the spring/summer.

In other news, we had our biggest snow storm of the year last week.  We got about 6-7 inches and of course Miss. Bella had a blast playing in  the white stuff.  Michael even got the day off, so we were glad to have a snow day with him.
Can we go play yet?

Making yellow snow, sorry I'm nothing if not inappropriate. ;)

One happy pup!

Catching snow balls.

Action shot.

We love the snow, but we are ready for spring please!

The weekend after our snow storm we got our wish and got our first taste of spring, it was close to 70 degrees and sunny so we decided to head to the park by the river and take a walk.

Bella loves the river.

This week starts March Maddness, eeeeekkkkkk!!! If I haven't mentioned it before I L-O-V-E March Madness.  Michael and I both love filling out our brackets each year and even Bella gets into the action.  Yep you read that right, Bella fills out a bracket too! She has some tactics: dog teams over everything, never any cat teams.  I know we are sooo weird but she actually beat everyone the first year we did it, when Butler went to the final haha.  I can't wait to fill out my bracket and mostly likely watch it get busted but it's all in fun! GO HEELS!

So there you have it, a boring life update.  Two more weeks until Easter weekend and our trip back home to NC!!!! I am so excited!!! Oh yeah and Happy St. Patty's Day!

Just call me Lindsey Vonn....

As I had mentioned in my last post, Michael's valentines gift to me was my very first ski trip! So that's what we did this past Saturday, we packed up bright and early, dropped Bella off at the doggie hotel and headed up to the mountains.  We got to the ski resort around 10:15, got our passes, got changed into ski clothes and picked up our skis and what not.  By the time we were all suited up and ready it was time for our two hour lesson, Michael had skied before but he knew I wouldn't want to take a lesson by myself so being the awesome hubs that he is, he humbled himself and joined me on the bunny hill.  The first hour of the lesson was very basic, how to put  your skis on, walk in them, how to slide with a wedge and how to turn.  We practiced a few times down the bunny hill and once we got the hang of it we moved up to the bigger hill, the one that would require riding on the chair lift.  I was pretty nervous about the chair lift , so many people have told me how difficult it was, but it was not bad at all and I caught on the first time.  Once we were at the top of the hill our second hour of our lesson was focused more on how to turn and use turning to control your speed.  Once our lesson was over we were on our own!  I was pretty impressed with how quickly skiing came to me and I am proud to say that over eight hours of skiing I did not fall once, the only one to take a tumble was Michael :).  Overall it was such a blast, I absolutely loved it and loved spending some quality time with my man doing something new and fun!  Here are some pics from our day:

Heading to the Mountains!

Getting our equipment.

Hubs rockin the bunny slope!

The second slope we skied on, from the chair lift.

Lookin cool as ever.

I'm off!

After 8 hours of skiing, Five Guys was much needed and deserved!

Thanks babe for such a fantastic Valentines gift, I can't wait to go again. We are currently getting quite the snow storm up here in VA.  We have already gotten about 6 inches of snow and more is on the way, if only I had a pair of skis ;).  Oh yeah and tomorrow is the big day, I'm having my wisdom teeth removed :(.  If you think about it say a little prayer for me, I'm sure everything will be fine, just praying for a speedy recovery and no complications. Thanks.

Life lately according to my iphone.

Life has been pretty uneventful the past few weeks, but I didn't want to go to long without some kind of update on the blog. So here is what's been up with us in iphone pics:

Bella has just been being cute, like usual.

We've been catching some z's.

Took a trip to the vet, and Miss Bella got an A+

Cheering for our Tar Heels! Come on March Madness

Taking trips to Target and enjoying our favorite, popcorn and Diet Coke.

Enjoying a piece of NC at Krispy Kreme.

We got a new bed, now I need to find some lamps for our bedside tables and something to hang above the bed.

For valentines Day, we kept it low key.  I made dinner and we enjoyed fettuccine alfredo and champagne at home.

My sweet friend April made this Valentine for me! Loved this so much, reminded me of back in elementary school when you exchanged Valentines. So much fun!

I took advantage of this cute Valentine to have a little photo shoot with my Valentine pup!

My man knows me to well.

Yay T. Swizzy!

And this was my real gift, eekkk! So excited, I have never been skiing before so hopefully it goes well.  Side note on the hilarious pic.  My husband searched for a pic of a little girl that reminded him of me as a child and I have to say he was right on, complete with giant glasses. I seriously died when I saw this, such a funny boy!

So that's all we have been up to lately,  I know I know we are just to wild and crazy.  Hope you could handle all of the excitement.  As for the next few weeks its more of nothing really.  We have our skiing trip tomorrow, which I am so excited for and then next thursday I am getting my wisdom teeth removed boo.  Then its just counting down til spring, warm weather and our trip back home for Easter so so so excited for this.
